Nerang cars arrive with a different problem set from the beachside suburbs, and the first one is simply heat. Inland Nerang, Carrara and Highland Park miss the sea breeze that the coastal strip gets, and on a still summer day that is a real temperature difference. In a closed car it compounds. Cracked dash tops and sticky steering wheels turn up here more often than anywhere else we service.
The second is organic contamination. Heavy tree cover through the older streets and up toward Highland Park means constant sap and bird droppings, and both are acidic enough to etch clear coat if they bake on. Cars parked under a fig for a summer come to us with dozens of small etch marks rather than one or two.

Never scrape or pick at it. Sap that has been sitting needs a dedicated solvent and dwell time, and if it has already etched, machine correction is the only real fix. On a coated car the sap sits on the coating rather than bonding to clear coat, which is the practical argument for coating a car parked under trees.
No, and anyone telling you otherwise is overselling. A ceramic coating is a chemical barrier measured in microns. Stone chip resistance needs a physical film, which is not something we offer. What a coating does is keep the paint around those chips in good condition and stop dust and organics bonding to it.
Often, yes. Red and black paints oxidise fastest under Australian UV, and chalking is oxidised clear coat and pigment. Machine correction removes the dead layer and restores the colour, then a coating protects the corrected finish. If the clear coat has failed through to the base, correction will not save it, and we will tell you before you spend anything.

Arguably that is the strongest case for one. Sap and droppings are the main threat to a car parked under cover of trees, and both work by bonding to and then etching into clear coat. A coating gives them a harder, less porous surface to land on, so in most cases they lift off with a wash instead of leaving a mark.
Yes, and it is proportional rather than arbitrary. A dual cab or a large 4WD has considerably more glass area and more panel area than a hatchback, so both jobs take longer and use more material. Call us with the make and model and we will give you a firm number rather than a range.
