At Prestige Protection, ceramic coating is never applied without proper preparation. Enhances your vehicle’s paint with a deep, high-gloss finish that improves colour clarity and gives your car a sleek, freshly detailed appearance.
Adds a durable protective layer that helps reduce light scuffs and swirl marks caused by everyday washing and minor surface contact.
Helps protect your vehicle’s paint from fading and oxidation caused by harsh sun exposure while preserving the original colour for longer.
Creates a protective layer that helps shield your paint from bird droppings, tree sap, road grime and other environmental contaminants.
Creates a water-repellent surface that causes water, dirt and grime to bead and slide off, helping your vehicle stay cleaner for longer and making washing easier.
When people search for paint protection they usually mean one of two things. One is a ceramic coating, a liquid that bonds to your paint and cures into a hard, glossy layer. The other is paint protection film, a thick clear vinyl that is cut and wrapped over the panels.
We do the first one. Every coating we fit is a genuine ceramic with a written warranty, applied over properly corrected paint. We do not fit paint protection film, PPF or clear bra, so if film is specifically what you are after we are not the right workshop, and we would rather tell you that up front than waste your time.
For most Gold Coast cars a ceramic coating is the sensible choice anyway. It covers the whole car rather than just the front end, it costs a fraction of a full film wrap, and it deals with the two things that actually ruin paint here, which are UV and salt.
Removes all surface dirt and grime. The coating bonds directly to your paint, so the surface has to be completely clean before anything else happens.
Pulls out the embedded metal particles and bonded grime a normal wash never touches. Skip this step and the coating will not last.
Takes the paint completely oil free. This is what lets the coating bond properly and last the full term of its warranty.
All three steps are included in every package at no extra charge. Before a single drop of coating goes on, we spend several hours getting the paint ready.
This is the part that separates a coating lasting years from one that fails in months, and it is also the easiest part to skip when someone is quoting cheap. We do not rush it.
If the paint has light scratches or swirl marks we deal with those first. A coating is transparent and it seals whatever is underneath it permanently, so anything not corrected beforehand stays there for the life of the coating. Paint correction starts from $100 for the first hour, and we will tell you what your vehicle actually needs rather than quoting a blanket package.
Paint correction, if your car needs it, is quoted separately and starts at $100 for the first hour. Whether your car needs it depends on the paint, and we will tell you honestly once we have looked at it. There is no wrong choice above. The difference is how hard the finish is and how long it holds, not whether it works.
Salt water, constant UV and marina grime are harder on a hull than anything a car sees. A ceramic coating on gelcoat and painted surfaces means salt and grime release with a rinse instead of a scrub, and the finish keeps its gloss through a Queensland summer.
Marine work uses marine specific products rather than the automotive range. We fit XPEL Fusion Plus Marine with a three year warranty and Kovalent Revive Marine with three to five years. The shorter terms are not a lesser product, they reflect how much harder salt water immersion is on any coating than road use is.
Boats are quoted individually, because surface area and the condition of the gelcoat differ every time.
Jet skis cop the worst of it. They sit in salt, bake in the sun on the trailer, and get washed hard between rides. Coating the hull and the top deck keeps the colour from going chalky and makes the post ride rinse quick instead of a job.
We coat the hull, deck and painted surfaces, and we can do the trailer at the same time. Like boats, skis take the marine products, so XPEL Fusion Plus Marine at three years or Kovalent Revive Marine at three to five.
A caravan or motorhome roof takes more UV in a year than most cars take in five, and oxidised, chalky panels are the result. A ceramic coating slows that down and makes the wash down after a trip far less work.
Caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers can take any of the coatings we stock. For anything living outside full time we usually point people at Kraken Graphene Titanium, because the longer life and the higher UV and scratch resistance are exactly what a permanently exposed roof and side panels need.
Size varies enormously, so vans are quoted on the vehicle rather than off a list.
Tanks, guards and fairings are small panels that cop a hard life. Bikes live outside more than cars do, they get washed more often, and bug splatter and fuel spills sit on the clear coat until someone deals with them. A ceramic coating makes all of that release far easier and keeps the depth in the paint. We coat painted panels, and we can do the frame, wheels and exhaust shielding at the same time.
Bike pricing is set separately from cars. XPEL Fusion Plus V2 is $395 with an eight year warranty and 9H hardness. Kovalent Borophene is $545 over nine years at 9H+, with a harder surface, around 30 per cent more gloss and better water repulsion. Kraken Graphene Titanium is $725 over ten years at 10H, with self healing properties and the hardest finish we offer.
Most riders choose Borophene because it sits in the middle on price while giving a harder, glossier finish. If the bike lives outside, Kraken is the one we recommend for its UV and scratch resistance. There is no wrong choice among the three.
Full detail, including what a bike deals with that a car does not, is on our motorcycle ceramic coating page.
Coating takes time to do properly, so we ask for a few days lead time to lock in a booking. If you are local we will run you to work or home while the bike is with us.
We coat everything from a new Hyundai, MG or GWM through to Tesla, Ford, Mazda, Isuzu, BYD and Mitsubishi, along with European and prestige cars, 4WDs and motorcycles. Soft factory paint, hard factory paint and wrapped panels all behave differently under a coating, which is part of what we check before we quote.

Most of the damage we correct was not caused by the road. It was caused by an automatic car wash, a dirty wash mitt or someone working too fast, and it shows up as fine circular scratches that catch the light in the sun. Sealing a coating over that locks it in, which is why correction always comes first.
To be clear about what we are, we are not a detailing shop and we do not offer car cleaning or detailing as a service. What we do is correct paint and then protect it.

Ceramic coating is a liquid polymer applied to your vehicle’s paint that bonds with the surface to create a durable protective layer that enhances gloss and protects against environmental contaminants.
Yes. Ceramic coating helps protect your paint from UV exposure, oxidation, water spots, road grime and other contaminants that can damage or dull your vehicle’s finish.
Yes, when the paint is prepared properly first. Our coatings start at $995 for XPEL Fusion Plus V2 with an 8 year warranty, and the value comes from years of UV and chemical resistance plus far easier washing, rather than from the coating alone. A coating applied over uncorrected paint seals the defects in, which is why preparation decides the result.
Professional ceramic coatings can last for several years depending on the product used, how the vehicle is maintained and the environment it is exposed to.
We run three coatings: XPEL Fusion Plus V2 at $995 with an 8 year warranty, Kovalent Borophene at $1,395 with a 9 year warranty, and Kraken Graphene Titanium at $1,795 with a 10 year warranty. Paint correction, if your car needs it, is quoted separately and starts from $100 for the first hour.
Most people choose Borophene, because it sits in the middle on price while giving a harder, glossier finish and better water resistance. There is no wrong choice among the three. XPEL and Kraken are both excellent, so it comes down to your budget and how much extra performance you are after.
It reduces light swirl marks and micro-marring, which is most of the fine scratching a daily driver picks up, and it will not stop deep scratches or stone chips. The 9H and 10H hardness figures quoted on coatings come from the pencil hardness test, not the mineral scale, so read them as product tiers rather than armour. No coating at any price stops a chip.
Ceramic coating takes time to do properly, so we ask for a few days lead time to lock in an appointment. If you are local we are happy to give you a lift to work or home while the car is with us, and any vehicle staying overnight is kept inside our premises, monitored by security cameras, on fully insured grounds.
If your car has light scratches or swirl marks, yes. A coating is optically clear and fills nothing, so anything on the paint when it cures is sealed in for the life of the coating. Paint correction is quoted separately from the coating and starts from $100 for the first hour. We will tell you what your car actually needs before you commit.

They are hardness figures quoted by the coating manufacturers. The 9H rating comes from the pencil hardness test standardised as ISO 15184, where 9H is the hardest graphite pencil in the graded set. Ratings above that are the manufacturer own scale, so treat them as product tiers rather than physics. What hardness genuinely buys you is resistance to fine scratching and wash swirls.
Yes, and it is usually the better value route. We also fit ceramic window tinting, BlackVue dash cams and electronic rust protection, and when any of those are combined with a coating we can discount the package price to suit your car and your budget.
