Paint protection is what stops the Gold Coast doing to your car what it does to every car left out in the sun. UV fades and flattens the clear coat, salt in the air works away at it, and bird droppings and tree sap burn in while you are at work. A protective coating sits over your factory paint and takes that punishment instead of the duco.
At Prestige Protection that coating is a ceramic. It bonds to the paint and cures into a hard, glossy layer that repels water and dirt, resists UV and chemicals, and makes the car far easier to keep clean. Nothing goes on until the paint underneath is properly prepared, because a coating over contaminated paint is a coating that fails early.

Paint protection means two different things depending on who is saying it. One is a ceramic coating, a liquid that bonds to your paint and cures into a hard, glossy layer across the whole car. The other is paint protection film, a thick clear vinyl that is cut and wrapped over individual panels.
We fit ceramic coatings. Every one is a genuine ceramic with a written warranty, applied over paint that has been corrected first. We do not fit paint protection film, PPF or clear bra, so if film is specifically what you are after we are not the right workshop, and we would rather tell you that now than waste your afternoon.
For most cars on the Gold Coast the ceramic is the sensible choice anyway. It covers the whole car rather than the front end only, it costs a fraction of a full film wrap, and it deals with the two things that actually ruin paint here, which are UV and salt.
Removes every bit of surface dirt and road film. The coating bonds directly to your paint, so anything left on the panel gets sealed under it for years.
Pulls out the embedded metal particles and bonded grime a normal wash never touches. Run your hand across the paint afterwards and the difference is obvious.
Takes the paint completely oil free. This is the step that lets the coating grip properly instead of sitting on a film of polish residue.
All three steps are included in every package at no extra charge. Not a drop of coating goes on a panel until the paint under it is clean, decontaminated and dry.
This is what separates protection that lasts years from protection that fails in months. Skipping it is how a cheap coating job goes cloudy or patchy inside a season, and it is why we will not throw a price at you over the phone without knowing what state the paint is in.
If the paint has light scratches or swirl marks, we deal with those first. A coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so correcting the paint afterwards means stripping off the coating you just paid for.
Paint correction, if your car needs it, is quoted separately and starts at $100 for the first hour. Whether your car needs it depends on the paint, and we will tell you honestly once we have looked at it. There is no wrong choice above. The difference is how hard the finish is and how long it holds, not whether it works.
Salt water, constant UV and marina grime are harder on a hull than anything a car deals with. Protection on a boat is not a cosmetic exercise, it is what keeps the gelcoat from chalking and the topsides from staining every season.
Marine work uses marine specific products rather than the automotive coatings, because the surfaces and the conditions are different. Boats are quoted individually, since surface area and the condition of the gelcoat decide how much preparation is involved.
Jet skis cop the worst of it. They sit in salt, then bake in the sun on the trailer, and the paint and gelcoat wear out years before the engine does. A coating gives the surface something to fight back with and makes the post ride rinse far quicker.
We protect the hull, deck and painted surfaces, and we can do the trailer at the same time so the whole rig is covered.
A caravan or motorhome roof takes more UV in a year than most cars see in three, and the panels are large, flat and permanently exposed. Left alone the finish goes chalky and the seams start to stain.
Caravans, motorhomes and camper trailers can take any of the three coatings we fit. Because of the surface area involved these are quoted per van after we have looked at the condition of the panels.
Tanks, guards and fairings are small panels that cop a hard life. Bikes live outside more than cars do, they get washed more often, and bug splatter and fuel spills sit on the clear coat until someone deals with them. A coating makes all of that release far easier and keeps the depth in the paint. We coat painted panels, and we can do the frame, wheels and exhaust shielding at the same time.
Bike pricing is set separately from cars. XPEL Fusion Plus V2 is $395 with an eight year warranty and 9H hardness. Kovalent Borophene is $545 over nine years at 9H+, with a harder surface, around 30 per cent more gloss and better water repulsion. Kraken Graphene Titanium is $725 over ten years at 10H, with self healing properties and the hardest finish we offer.
Most riders choose Borophene because it sits in the middle on price while giving a harder, glossier finish. If the bike lives outside, Kraken is the one we recommend.
We protect everything from a new Hyundai, MG or GWM through to Tesla, Ford, Toyota, BMW and Mercedes, plus the work utes that spend their lives in the sun. The paint system differs between makes, which changes how we prepare the panels, but every car gets the same process and the same written warranty.
Most of the damage we correct was never caused by the road. It was caused by washing. Automatic car washes, a dropped mitt, a dirty bucket, or a servo sponge that has been through fifty cars before yours will all put fine scratches into clear coat, and in sunlight they show up as swirls.
Paint protection locks in whatever is under it, so if those marks are there when the coating goes on, they are there for the life of the coating. That is why we look at the paint first and tell you straight whether correction is worth doing on your car.

Yes, when it is applied over properly prepared paint. A coating will not stop a stone chip or a trolley, but it holds off fading and oxidation, stops bird droppings and sap etching as fast, and makes the car dramatically easier to wash. The failures you hear about are almost always preparation failures, not coating failures.
A new car is the best time to do it. The paint is already close to perfect, so little or no correction is needed and the total cost stays down. On an older car it is still worth doing, we just look at the panels first and tell you honestly whether correction is needed before the coating goes on.
Between eight and ten years depending on which coating you choose, and every one carries a written warranty for that term. How the car is washed makes a real difference to whether it reaches the top of that range, which is why we show you how to look after it.

It reduces the light swirl marks and micro marring that come from washing, which is where most day to day damage starts. It will not stop a deep scratch, a key or a stone chip. Anyone telling you a coating makes paint scratch proof is selling you something.
Paint protection takes time to do properly, so we ask for a few days lead time to lock in an appointment. If you are local we are happy to give you a lift to work or home while the car is with us, and any vehicle staying overnight is kept inside our premises, monitored by security cameras, on fully insured grounds.

They are hardness figures quoted by the coating manufacturers. The 9H rating comes from the pencil hardness test standardised as ISO 15184, where 9H is the hardest graphite pencil in the graded set. Ratings above that are the manufacturer own scale, so treat them as product tiers rather than physics. What hardness genuinely buys you is resistance to fine scratching and wash swirls.
Yes, and it is usually the better value route. We also fit ceramic window tinting, BlackVue dash cams and electronic rust protection, and when any of those are combined with paint protection we can discount the package price to suit your car and your budget.
